Breast implants save woman in car crash PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 04 October 2006
A Bulgarian woman was apparently saved by her breast implants when they acted as airbags and absorbed the impact sustained in a car crash.
The 24 year old woman, identified as Elena Marinova from the Bulgarian capital Sofia, was involved in a head-on two vehicle car crash in the northern city of Ruse, in Bulgaria. According to the Standart newspaper, both cars were total wrecks and while the woman was badly hurt, she escaped serious injury because of her breast implants.

A police forensic officer told the paper that the 40DD silicone implants "absorbed the impact of the crash,"

The officer added, "They worked just like airbags - protecting the victim's ribs and vital organs from damage.

"However they are not as safe as the real thing because they exploded, which airbags are not supposed to do."
