Surgeons in Brazil, a country noted both for its fascination with aesthetic perfection, and plastic surgeons who set new fashion trends in plastic surgery, have devised a new technique that provides the uplift and contouring of a bra, without the need for wearing such a garment.
The procedure is suitable mainly for patients who are undergoing a breast reduction or breast augmentation, but is not recommended for patients seeking breast implants. The surgeons fit the internal bra in two stages.
First, the surgeon resculpts the glandular tissue in the patient's breast, to redefine the shape of the breast, as it should be if it were already supported by a bra.
Second, a special micro thin mesh called Alloderm is inserted below the skin of the breast, to provide support in the absence of any external supporting garment. Some surgeons will also use threadlift surgery to provide additional support to the breast, depending on the size of the breast to be supported.
Scarring from the procedure is quite minimal, depending on the skill of the surgeon, and should only result in small scars around the perimeter of the areola.
