Chinese man spends $500,000 to make mistress resemble former girlfriend |

The former head of Bank of China in Hong Kong spent almost $500,000 of the bank's money on cosmetic surgery for his mistress. He sent her to clinics in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Britain with a photo of his high school girlfriend, asking surgeons to make his mistress look more like his former girlfriend.
Liu Jinbao, 54, said that he never got over his high school girlfriend, so he wanted to make his mistress look like her, by undergoing cosmetic surgery. He admitted this to some of his old school friends when he introduced his mistress to them over dinner. The mistress, who hasn't been named, was a marketing officer in the Shanghai branch of the bank.
He was tried in China for embezzlement and receiving bribes, but the details of the amount spent on cosmetic surgery for his mistress were only recently leaked to the media. His trial, for which he received a suspended death sentence, was held in private last year, after he became implicated in a real estate scandal in Shanghai.
