Israel sees 16% increase in demand for cosmetic surgery |

According to figures released by the Israel Society of Plastic Surgeons, demand for cosmetic surgery procedures rocketed last year, with 11,600 procedures performed in 2006, compared with 10,000 in the previous year. The society reports the value of the industry at NIS 350m last year.
The most popular of all procedures was breast augmentation, accounting for 36% of all procedures. Half of the women who opt for a breast implant choose a 300cc implant, with the larger 350cc second in popularity, chosen by 31% of women.
The other procedures chosen by Israeli patients, in decreasing order of popularity were:- Face-lifts
- Rhinoplasty
- Tummy tucks
- Liposuction
- Eyelid improvement
In addition to the non-surgical treatments, there has been a huge increase in demand for non-surgical procedures such as laser hair removal and Botox treatment, with 10 times as many non-surgical procedures performed as surgical procedures.
