New Jersey police probe "backstreet" cosmetic surgery death PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 27 November 2007
New Jersey police are investigating the death of a 41 year old woman, who died, apparently after undergoing cosmetic surgery at a private residence.
Olga Arroyo, of Morganville in Marlboro Township, was found unconscious by police on a couch at a private residence in Rahway at around 3pm on Wednesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, according to Lt. Joseph Simonetti. He added:

We are investigating that she possibly went there for some type of cosmetic procedure,

Simonetti said that the husband and wife who live in the house were present when police arrived. He declined to name the couple, but added that police are trying to determine whether they are licensed to perform cosmetic surgery.

Although no charges have yet been filed, police are treating the death as suspicious.

The death follows the Framingham, MA case of a young woman who died after undergoing liposuction in the basement of a condo , allegedly conducted by a Brazilian husband and wife team who were not licensed to perform cosmetic surgery or liposuction in the United States. Their case before the courts continues.
