Lipo 6 Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 July 2006
Following the FDA ban on the ingredient ephedra, Nutrex Research, manufacturers of Lipo 6 have taken the opportunity to revamp the product. The new Lipo 6 contains the same core ingredients as its predecessor, with the obvious absence of ephedra.
The active ingredients in the relaunched Lipo 6 are:
  • Synephrine HCL
  • Synephrine 99% Guggulsterones
  • Yohimbine HCL
  • Caffeine Anhydrous USP
  • Bioperine
Synephrine is the main "active" compound found in the fruit called variosuly green orange, sour orange and bitter orange. Because synephrine is a stimulant, (like caffeine and ephedrine), it is claimed to have similar effects in terms of boosting energy, suppressing a person's appetite and increasing the metabolic rate and caloric expenditure. Because it stimulates specific beta-3 receptors, but doesn't stimulate beta-1, beta-2 or alpha-1 receptors, it is claimed to stimulate fat metabolism without the negative cardiovascular side effects experienced by some people (such as increased blood pressure and palpitations). However, isolated synephrine has been shown to raise blood pressure in tests and Lipo 6 is not suitable for patients with a history of blood pressure or cardiac problems.

Guggulsterones are a mixture of several compounds isolated from the Indian tree Commiphora Mukul (also called Gum Guggul). They are included in Lipo 6 in order to increase the patient's thyroid activity, increasing the level of the body's thyroid hormones T3 and T4. They are also claimed to decrease the patient's tryglycerides and LDL cholestrol, while increasing the levels of HDL cholestrol.

Lipo 6 also contains Yohimbe, an extract of the African Yohimbe tree bark. It has been used in a prescription drug in the US to treat erectile dysfunction and is also thought to excite parts of the brain associated with a patient's libido. It is included in Lipo 6 because of its stimulant properties. Yohimbe can decrease blood pressure through blocking alpha receptors although its efficacy in doing this is clinically unpredictable. Yohimbe should not be taken by patients taking either SSRI or MAOI anti-depressants because of its interaction with these medications. The FDA is currently investigating several products containing yohimbe, which are alleged to have caused renal failure, seizures and death.

Caffeine is a stimulant and is classified as a trimethylxanthine. Its inclusion in Lipo 6 stimulates the release of epinephrine (adrenaline). In this forumlation, the inclusion of caffeine is designed to stimulate the mobilization of fatty acids, which in turn is designed to increase fat oxidation for weight loss.

Bioperine is an extract from the fruits of the black pepper and long pepper plants. Biperine extract is claimed to increase the increase the bodies ability to absorb supplemented nutrients. It is included in Lipo 6 to assist vitamin and mineral uptake.

Lipo 6 reviews:

People who have tried Lipo-6 for weight loss have reported mixed results. Those who have combined the product with a healthy regime of balanced meals, no snacking and regular exercise have reported significant weight loss in relatively short periods. This has been achieved without dieting, while following a healthy diet.

On the other hand, there are reports of customers suffering unpleasant side effects of Lipo 6, such as palpitations and anxiety, most likely a result of the stimulant nature of most of the active ingredients.

Warnings: Not for use by individuals under the age of 18. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Do not exceed recommended dose. Do not consume synephrine or caffeine from other sources, including but not limited to coffee, tea, soda and other dietary supplements or medications containing phenylephrine or caffeine. Contains caffeine. Do not use for more than 8 weeks. Consult your physician prior to use if you are taking medication including but not limited to MAOI inhibitors, antidepressants, aspirin, non-sterodial anti-inflammatory drugs or products cintaining phenylephrine, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, or other stimulants. Consult your physician prior to use if you have a medical condition, including but not limited to , heart, liver, kidney, or thyroid disease, psychiatric disorders, difficulty urinatinf, diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, recurrent headaches, enlarged prostate or glaucoma. I have been working out for almost a year now. I take Lipo 6 for a couple of weeks then I quit. Each time it seems I lose about 3 lbs right away. Since this time last year I've lost a total of 35lbs. A few weeks ago after starting the Lipo 6 again I noticed that I could see the definition in my abs. They are completely visible now without even flexing. It's the weirdest sight to someone that has never seen their abs before. I don't like the way I feel on Lipo 6. I can't sleep very well but the bad side effects are worth going through to get the results I guess. P.S. those that do 2304234 situps a day are just kidding yourself. You can't remove fat from areas that you workout. The fat comes off where it went on last. If you don't know that working out is the only safe way to lose weight then you are kidding yourself taking these pills. Don't hope for miracle drugs to help your lifestyle.

I have been taking this product and Working out on a regular basis. Please not that you MUST excercise to get what you want. Just a pill will not work for you. I am 34 and have been using it now for 8 weeks. Yes the price is high but its been better then Hydroxycut with results. I am only 5'6" and I went from 200lbs to 179lbs in a month. Yes I run, I bike, I work out. Sitting around and thinking this pill will drop the weight off of you is NOT going to happen. You must begin to eat healty cut out the Suger, snaks, Cakes, Coke, Sprite, Pepsi etc. Watch your bread intake and what foods you eat. Take lots of protein. Whey protien. Remember you will need 1gm of Protein per body weight each day to begin got cut and help loose weight and also build mass. It take work, the pill does help but you must use it correctly and you must eat and excercise to get your body in shape. Dont take 2 pills after 5pm if you are going to bed for 10-11pm. You need to let its affects wear off. At least 6 hours. Also I take it before I work out, to burn off some of that engery. I run first or cardio for at least 30 min. Then I lift. Remember the pill will not do it alone. It takes you to make the difference. If many of you claim that you are gaining weight. Check to see if your not gaining muscle? Hope this helps

There is no magic pill that makes you become thin. It took years to put on the weight, it will take some time to take it off. Everyone in my office is taking lipo 6, and we love it! We have been taking it for some time and can tell a difference. For one when I go home from work I still have energy to have “family” time and “ADULT” time! We also notice a big change in our appetite (being way less)! We love it and will continue to take it, if nothing else just for the energy boost and eating less.

I have been on the Lipo 6 for 4 weeks now. I am the mother of four, three of which are 3yrs old and under. I have used the product along with a low calorie very healthy diet. I have used other weight loss products with amazing results, and with this one I have gained 4 pounds. It has not given me extra energy or helped me with any cravings if anything it makes me hungry. My personal opinion is that the bottle should say you have to combine it with a serious diet and hardcore workout to acheive the type of results they show!!
