A new patent has been granted for a weight loss supplement called Aralox to New York company National Bioscience Corporation. Although test results are still awaited, the company claims in its patent that the product offers Novel composition for the treatment of obesity and effective fat loss promotion.
The two main active ingredients in Aralox are derived from soft grape leaves and Siberian birch tree leaves. The company claims that the product works through various metabolic pathways of the body.
National Bioscience claims its research demonstrates that Aralox can help promote fat loss through the natural disruption of perilipins. However, a company's own research, and the fact that a patent has been granted does not necessarily prove the effectiveness of the product.
Perilipins are proteins that act as a barrier between hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and lipid droplets in the body. The company claims that reducing the perilipins barrier can lead to more effective fat loss. However, consumers hoping to lose weight would be well advised to await further independent trials that scientifically assess the effectiveness of this or other product which promises weight loss through the consumption of a dietary supplement. The medically recommended way of losing weight is a combination of regular increased physical exercise combined with a sensible eating plan.
