He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Sargent is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Tennessee College of Medicine- Chattanooga Unit. Dr. Sargent joined The Plastic Surgery Group in 1987, where he founded the Tennessee Craniofacial Center, serving as its medical director. Under his leadership, the center has grown to be nationally recognized with patients referred from over forty states across the U.S. as well as several foreign countries. Dr. Sargent is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. His special areas of interest are craniofacial and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Sargent is a frequent visiting lecturer and has an extensive bibliography- including a book on Craniofacial Surgery.
